Emergency Measures Training Exercise – A Collaborative Success

Last week, the Town of Watson Lake hosted a successful emergency measures training exercise in collaboration with a range of local and regional agencies. The scenario—a simulated wildfire emergency—provided an invaluable opportunity to test and strengthen our collective preparedness, coordination, and response capabilities.

Exercises like this are essential to ensuring community safety, minimizing potential damage, and improving response times during real emergency situations.

We extend our sincere thanks to Yukon Wildland Fire Management, Yukon Property Management, Watson Lake Fire Department, Yukon EMS, RCMP, Watson Lake Airport, Watson Lake Community Hospital, Liard First Nation, Daylu Dena Council, and Town Staff for their active participation and commitment to emergency preparedness.
Together, we are building a stronger, safer community.
